When did you first become interested in art?
I’ve been interested in art for as long as I can remember.
How would you describe your design style?
Abstract & colourful.
What inspires you?
The infinite randomness of daily life.
What is your favourite piece in your collection?
‘Lake Louise’ because it reminds me of the great holiday to Canada, where the lake is.
Is there any artistic talent in your family?
Yeah my mum is a painter.
What is the journey you take to produce your work?
I usually take a note (or a photo on my phone) of something I’ve seen during the day and my work grows out of that when I sit down at my computer.
What made you want to be a part of Art Rookie?
The opportunity to have my work available closer to home was too good to pass up, plus I really wanted to see my art on the products they have that I’ve not seen before.
When you’re not creating masterpieces what do you enjoy doing?
I absolutely love movies, so going to the cinema is something I really enjoy. Traveling is also a love of mine, but a little more expensive and therefore I can’t do that as often as I’d like. I also love watching comedy panel shows.
Have you faced any struggles getting your work noticed?
Getting to grips with the promotion side of things was a little hard at first. There are so many social media platforms, it can be hard work to keep them all up to date. I feel like getting noticed is a never ending part of things though, you gotta keep at it.
Where would we find you hanging out in the UK?
Northern Ireland born and raised, in the County Down countryside is where I spent most of my days.
What makes British talent different than elsewhere?
The weather probably plays a part, we (consciously or subconsciously) create to embrace it or as a kind of escapism from it.
What are your plans for 2014?
Keep on keeping on.
